On 10 August 2025, young pianist Kevin Tan was named VIYAF V-Young Artist at the inauguration ceremony of the Vienna International Youth Arts Foundation (VIYAF) in Vienna Musikverein.

The recognition marked a significant milestone for Kevin, who became the first young artist formally selected and signed by the foundation in its classical music category. According to the certificate presented at the event, the title was awarded in recognition of his exceptional musical talent, artistic development, and commitment to the values and goals of VIYAF.

As part of the foundation’s opening ceremony and festival celebrations, Kevin also gave a performance of Beethoven’s Waldstein Sonata, one of the composer’s most demanding and celebrated piano works. His appearance formed part of the musical programme marking the launch of the new foundation.

The ceremony introduced VIYAF as a platform intended to support emerging young artists and promote international artistic exchange. Kevin’s selection as V-Young Artist – Classic placed him among the foundation’s earliest representative musicians and highlighted his growing profile as a young pianist on the international stage.
